Howard Energy Co., Inc. has been in the energy business since the early 1980's. The Company is headquartered in Traverse
City, Michigan, and employs more than one-hundred experienced staff at all locations and businesses. Its primary activities
are exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, directional drilling services, and hydroelectric generation.
Previously the Company was also involved in natural gas marketing and storage.
Howard Energy's initial investments were in shallow natural
gas fields in southern Ohio. In 1984 it became involved in
the Niagaran Reef Trend, and shortly thereafter in the Prairie
du Chien formation both located in Michigan. These "plays"
remain a focus of the Company to the present day.
The Company has also been extensively involved in southeastern Oklahoma, the Austin Chalk in Texas, and most
recently in onshore Louisiana and offshore Gulf of Mexico.
